The Romanian Gendarmerie and the Ministry of the Interior of Moldova on July 27 signed a plan of action on cooperation, experience exchange and professional training in the joint area of activity, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Minister of the Interior Victor Catan said this plan of action is very important for Moldova as Romania's experience will substantially contribute to the effective training of our carabineers.
Inspector General of the Romanian Gendarmerie Olimpiodor Antonescu stressed the signing of the plan of action marks the beginning of a new stage in the cooperation between the two “armies”.
“We are glad to provide support and share our experience in modernizing the legislative framework and in organizing the troops,” said Olimpiodor Antonescu.
“I wish Moldova to be able to join the European Gendarmerie after it becomes part of the EU as this organization plays a major role at the world level.”
The carabineer troops of Moldova annually attend the international course given at the Rosu exercise school of the Romanian Gendarmerie, where the officers learn to organize and coordinate activities aimed at maintaining and restoring public order.
