The Russian authorities expressed readiness to increase the imports of meat from Moldova. A group of experts was invited to inspect the potential Moldovan producers and exporters of meat, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Minister Vasile Bumacov met recently in Moscow with the head of Russia’s supervisory body “Rosselkhoznadzor” Sergei Dankvert. One of the topics of mutual interest was the export of Moldovan meat products and the increase in the volume of raw meat supplies to Russia.
The Moldovan official paid a visit to Russia after the Russia side rejected a consignment of meat from a Moldovan company several weeks ago, arguing that it was of a poor quality.
In the meeting, the two officials agreed to intensify cooperation in the production and exportation of saplings and vine cuttings. At the invitation of the National Food Safety Agency, a group of experts of the Russian supervisory body will make a fact-finding visit to Moldova. It was suggested training Moldovan experts in creating and implementing a viable system for ensuring the traceability of products of animal and vegetal origin.
