Russian wins Top Prize of Know Moldova contest
A citizen of Russia has won the Top Prize of the sixth Know Moldova contest and enjoys a free stay in Moldova during October 7-10. The contest has been organized by Radio Moldova International since 2006, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vladimir Gudzenko is a construction and engineering specialist. He lives in suburban Moscow. In a communiqué, the organizers of the contest say that Vladimir Gudzenko won a maximum number of points at all the stages of the competition, showing a wide knowledge of the Moldovan history, culture and traditions. The program of the three-day stay includes participation in the National Wine Day and visits to the tourist complex “Orheiul Vechi”, the monastery “Curchi”, museums, and historical and architectural monuments.
Moldova is the fourth country visited by Vladimir Gudzenko as winner of similar contests staged by radio stations in Romania, Turkey and China. Vladimir said that he has listened to Radio Moldova International since 1997 and began to annually take part in the Know Moldova contest starting with the second edition.
The contest is intended for the foreign listeners of the radio station and takes place during May-July. This year’s edition was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence.
More than 20 listeners from over ten countries qualified for the final. Jerónimo Zamora from Mexic and Serghei Lobatseev from Russia won the first place, Dmitrii Balykin from Russia and Christian Ghibaudo from France – the second place, while Gabriel Schvartz from Mexico – the third place. They received diplomas and prizes, while the other participants – CDs with folk music.
In 2006, the Top Prize went to Raffaele Cioffi from Italy, in 2007 – to Christian Ghibaudo from France, in 2008 - to Erick Stephenson from the U.S., while in 2009 and 2010 – to Serghei Lobatseev from Russia.
The contest Know Moldova was launched in 2006 by Radio Moldova International with support from Teleradio-Moldova Company.
