The budget debts to the health system of Moldova add up to about 500 million lei, acting Minister of Health Ruxanda Glavan said in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
“In 2015, the state budget didn’t fulfill its duty to rhythmically finance the health system and debts of about 500 million lei accumulated thus. I raised this issue in the Government’s meetings. We were assured that the debts will be liquidated by the end of December,” stated Ruxanda Glavan.
The acting minister assured that there are now no reasons for concern as to the provision of the hospitals with the necessary medicines and consumables and to the payment of salaries in the health sector. “We have very good managers who formed reserves. As a result of inspections, we established that some of the hospitals have medicines in excess. If the problem of debts persists, the situation can get out of control. I hope the debts to the Ministry of Health’s budget will be cleared by this yearend,” said Glavan.
Socialist Chisinau councilor Ion Ceban and Socialist MP Vladimir Odnostalco on November 18 stated that the government’s debts to the health system amount to over 1 billion lei.
