Salary bonuses for those involved in fight against COVID-19

The state employees involved directly in the prevention, control and treatment of the infection with COVID-19 will benefit from an additional basic salary, Prime Ministe Ion Chicu announced after the April 10 meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations, IPN reports.

To financially motivate the personnel involved in the supervision, control and treatment of COVID-19 during the state of emergency, a monthly bonus to the salary will be provided for work performed in conditions of increased risk to health, of up to a basic salary, to the personnel of the National Public Health Agency and of medical institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the National Administration of Penitentiaries. The size of the bonus is set by the manager of the institution depending on the employee’s contribution to containing the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was also set an employee benefit of 50% to the salary for financially motivating the personnel of the emergency pre-hospital medical assistance service involved in the provision of medical assistance to patients with COVID-19, and also a benefit of up to 50% to the salary for the personnel of the primary medical assistance service involved directly in the provision of medical assistance to patients with COVID-19.
