Children, parents, grandparents and anyone else as from October 29 can write letters to Santa Claus and send them to the Santa Claus Academy without a postage stamp. The letter should be sent earlier so that it reaches the destination before December 1 and Santa Claus has time to read each message and to write an answer.
Silvia Brăduțan, a volunteer of Clipa Siderală – the nongovernmental organization that manages the Academy - has told IPN that nowadays those who write letters to Santa Claus mainly want last-generation gadgets. If the author is a child from a vulnerable family who needs clothing, footwear or other bare essentials, the story is passed on to kindhearted people who can lend a hand.
Last year the Santa Claus Academy received over 16,000 letters.
