The scholarships of university students, persons studying for their master’s degree and doctorate and of vocational school and college students will be raised by 10%. The social and merit awards will also be higher, IPN reports, quoting a decision adopted by the Government. The decision will be implemented retroactively, from January 1, 2014.
Thus, the scholarship in universities will be 560-720 lei, in colleges – 420-560 lei, while in vocational schools – 330 lei. The scholarships of persons studying for their master’s degree will be 790 lei, while of those studying for their doctorate – 1,000-1,150 lei.
The scholarship of last-year students will vary between 670 and 860 lei, while of students from teacher-training, agriculture and medicine universities will rise up to 1,010 lei as they benefit from a bonus of 20% to the scholarship during the first years of study and from a bonus of 40% in the last year.
As many as 17,500 university students of the total 98,000, 13,800 college students of the total 30,700 and all the 19,200 vocational schools students receive scholarships.
