The Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth” has launched the second stage of the campaign “Union Means” that will take place until May 16 and will end with a large-scale public event. Within the campaign, two video clips will be broadcast on the public radio station and TV channel. The videos were presented in a news conference at IPN.
Movement member Corina Bezer said the goal of the campaign is to inform the people about the benefits and importance of Moldova’s union with Romania. Last year, the public TV channel refused to broadcast the video clips. Therefore, the Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth” sued the company and won the case. “For a better life, we need competent justice and economic stability. We can have this only through the union,” she stated.
Another member Anatol Ursu said the union with Romania can ensure confidence in tomorrow through a prosperous and safe economic future. The campaign will include cultural events. On March 26, Adriana Trandafir will give a recital entitled “Songbird Maria Tanase” at the National Theater “Vasile Alecsandri” in Balti. On March 27, the same recital will be held in Cahul. On March 29, a demonstration titled “Great Tricolor Assembly” will be mounted in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau.
A number of studies centering on the union will be carried out within the campaign. “On the website www.unireainseamna.md, we will weekly publish economic, practical studies about how the union can be ensured. Some of them will refer to the national identity and unionist feelings in Moldova and Romania. The first study will be a synthesis of the polls that focused on this matter,” said Iulian Gramatski, a volunteer of the Movement. He added that the studies will not necessitate financial resources because they will be made by experts of the academic diaspora.
