The heavy rain that fell on September 18 damaged about 5 km of roads in the northern districts and flooded cellars. A bridge was destroyed, while a number of vehicles got stuck on the road and needed the assistance of rescuers.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said that 2.5 km of road were damaged in Corobceni village of Telenesti district, while the high winds tore off over 50 square meters of polyethylene from a greenhouse.

In Telenesti town, a number of drivers remained blocked in the cars and called the rescuers.

In Casla, Cantemir, an access bridge for pedestrians was washed away by waters, while in Soroca town a number of basements were flooded.

Diana Turcan said that all the settlements that remained without electricity were reconnected to the supply of power.
