Sheriff 106th in IFFHS rankings
Sheriff Tiraspol climbed 16 spots in the Club World Rankings released Monday by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldova's champion ranks the 106th with 116 points.
Sheriff is the only representative of Moldova in the rankings. Earlier, the best 350 football clubs of the world included Zimbru Chisinau, Nistru Otaci and Dacia Chisinau.
Sherriff's adversaries in the UEFA Europa League take the following positions: FC Twente Enschede – the 20th, Fenerbahce Istanbul – the 49th, FC Steaua Bucharest – the 61st.
Manchester United heads the rankings with 348 points, followed by FC Barcelona with 328 points and Chelsea with 294 points, Info-Prim Neo informs.
The rankings have been updated at the start of every month since January 1, 1991. They are determined by taking into account all the results of the national championships, the national cup competitions and the club competitions of the six continental confederations during the last 12 months.
