The documents for the preselection stage of the international pop music contest “Two Twin Hearts”, in memory of the departed Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, started to be accepted. The festival is traditionally held during November 13-15, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the festival’s director Eugenia Marin, the mother of Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, this year the contest will include only the singing section owing to the shortage of funds. The competition is open to singers aged between 10 and 15 and 16 and 40. At the preselection stage and in the contest, the competitors must sing two songs: one from the repertoire of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici and another one of choice, but in the official language of the state that they represent. The application for participation, the CD with two positives for foreign singers, the copy of the identification document and a photograph should be submitted by October 4 to 68 Bucharest Street, Chisinau, office 305. The preselection will take place on October 10 and 11. The participation fee for Moldovan singers is 40 euros, while for foreign singers - 50 euros. Contestants from Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Germany, Latvia, Belarus and other countries will take part in the festival. Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici died in a road accident on the night of October 30, 1992, while heading for Chisinau. Their car ran into a tree near Cosereni settlement, which is 49 kilometers from Bucharest. Ion Aldea-Teodorovici had written over 300 patriotic and lyrical songs, songs for children and theater plays.
