The 13th Days of Russian Culture and Spirituality will take place in Chisinau between October 14 and 19, IPN reports.
According to the program, the events start at 9am on October 14 with laying of flowers at the monument to writer Alexandr Pushkin.
At 10:30, an exhibition of books published by the Congress of the Russian Community will be opened at the National Library. A ceremony to open the Days of Russian Culture and Spirituality will take place at the National Philharmonic “Sergei Lunkevich” at 6pm. The spectators will be able to see a concert of Russian classical music with works from the repertoires of Rahmaninov and Tchaikovsky.
At 8am on October 15, a lesson dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of writer Mihail Lermontov will take place in secondary schools and lyceums of Moldova. At 9am, a masterclass will be given at the National Library. It will involve Russian writer Alexander Trapeznikov. At 11am, there will be held a roundtable meeting themed “World of the Russian literature” that will be attended by writers, teachers, students and leaders of public organizations from Moldova and Russia.
On October 16, Russian writer Alexander Trapeznikov will give a public lecture entitled “Characteristics of the contemporary literary process in Russia” at the National Library, at 3pm.
On October 17, an exhibition of works by plastic artists from Gagauzia will be opened at the National Library at 11am. At 1pm, young writers will stage a “Duet of poets”.
On October 18, a national conference of teachers entitled “Support for teaching the history, culture and traditions of the Russian people at Moldovan schools” will take place at “M. Lomonosov” Library, at 10am. At 2pm, the Lyceum “Chiril si Metodiu” will host a national forum of young people titled “Russian education – key to success in the future”. At 5pm, the ensemble of instrumentalists “Animo” from Gagauzia will perform on the stage of the National Philharmonic.
On the last day of the event, a poets’ evening dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Moldova from the fascist occupation will be held at the National Library, starting at 3pm. The ceremony to close the Days of Russian Culture and Spirituality will take place at the National Philharmonic at 5pm.
