At least six bars and restaurants were registered over the past weekend operating past the 22:00 curfew in place as part of the current coronavirus restrictions, Chisinau Police Chief Marin Garaz told reporters.
Additionally, fines were slapped on the administrators of a restaurant which violated the curfew restrictions last week, denying access to the police for three hours while also not letting visitors out. A criminal investigation has been started for unlawful seizure of people. Garaz also denied reports that there were prosecutors and judges among the merrymakers.
Registered visitors without Covid certificates will face fines ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 lei, and administrators will have to cough up from 10,000 to 35,000 lei, with the fines to double in case of repeated offenses.
