Small child hurt in hit-and-run accident

A child of only one year and a half was struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old boy. Paulina Yakimovski, senior PR specialist of the Traffic Police Division, told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened in Florica village, Causeni. The child left without supervision went out in the street and was hit by a Volkswagen-Geta car. The driver got scared and left the place of the accident, but was soon identified by the police. The little boy was rushed to the hospital with a cranial-cerebral trauma and a concussion. A girl aged 16 was injured when the Honda motorcycle on which she was traveling was struck by an Audi A-4 in Slobozia village. The car was driven by an inebriated 25-year-old man without a license. An 81-year-old woman from Sofia village, Drochia, was hospitalized with serious injuries after she was involved in a road accident. She was struck by Fiat-Bravo car moving backwards. A 44-year-old driver of a Mercedes minibus running on the Chisinau-Straseni route felt sick and failed to stop at the red traffic light at an intersection in Chisinau. It crashed into a Mercedes car and was then thrown into a tractor. Consequently, four passengers of the minibus received injuries. Eighteen persons, four of whom minors, were hurt in 13 road accidents in Moldova yesterday and last night.
