Snap mayoral elections will take place in Bobeica commune of Hâncești district. The Central Election Commission took note of Bobeica mayor’s note concerning the meeting of conditions for dissolving the local council, IPN reports.

According to the Commission, the local council hasn’t held meetings for over six consecutive months and, respectively, adopted no decision in the period. This is a violation of the law on the local public administration.

The election date will be set when the state of emergency is lifted or when Parliament modifies the decision by which a state of emergency was declared nationwide.

Moldova’s Parliament declared a state of emergency for a 60-day period as from February 24.
