As the snow is melting, the traffic is again heavy in Chisinau with more vehicles now being on the roads. The large snow piles and the cars parked in unauthorized places make some of the Chisinau streets impassable, Info-Prim Neo reports. The police are fining the drivers who park the vehicles illegally. Most of the violations were discovered near the Central Market and Cantemir Boulevard. Only 100 snowploughs work on the streets and they do not manage to clean the melting snow that blocked many of the pluvial channels. The Housing Division does not have enough personnel to clear the access roads to the yards of the apartment buildings. “It is very hard to remove the melted snow that turned into ice,” said the Division's head Petru Gontea. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said the economic entities and the equipment that they can provide should be involved in the works to remove the snow from sidewalks. As more precipitation is forecast for the next days, especially sleet, all the Chisinau divisions engaged in snow removal will work round-the-clock.
