Traffic on many streets in Chisinau is difficult and many jams appear because of the thick layer of snow, IPN learned from a press release of the City Hall.

The local authorities announced that despite the heavy snowfall, no accidents happened so far. Except for the streets officially closed during winter, none of the other streets are blocked. 298 trolleybuses, 119 buses and 1100 minibuses are circulating, that is the maximum number of public transport units for a weekday.

Meanwhile, the housing and improvement division deployed all of its units, including 22 tractors and 16 Haco units that clear the snow on secondary streets, sidewalks and access ways to block yards.

The City Hall recommends all drivers to be careful and park legally in order to allow the specialized units to clear the snow and encourages the people of Chisinau to use the public transport instead of personal cars in order to avoid congested traffic.
