Starting with this week, employees of the Chisinau Social Assistance Division will go to the homes of the recipients of compensations for heat to fill out social questionnaires, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the October 29 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, the Division’s head Stefan Calancea said the social workers will ask for information about the incomes and living conditions of the family and the number of members. Such visits will be paid until the end of the heating season. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said in this connection that the questionnaire will allow to correctly assess the situation of recipients of compensations given that the salaries and pensions are expected to rise. But the number of recipients of compensations anyway increases. If it is established that the persons give false information about their incomes and composition of the family, the applications will be rejected. The head of the General Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea said that about 300 new applications have been submitted until now. Another 8,000 families of the 38,000 that benefited from compensations for heat the previous heating season renewed their applications. The compensation offered by the municipality represents 40% of the heat bill. The applications can be filed by families with incomes of under 1,450 lei a month per person to the housing stock managers or the district head’s office. The residents of the suburban settlements can submit applications to the local mayor’s offices. The persons who benefited from compensations the previous year can lodge confirmative applications by the end of December, while those who want to receive compensations for the first time can submit applications by the end of the heating season.
