Social workers will learn to use computer
The Government designed an ambitious project to teach the social workers to use the computer by implementing modern information technologies all over the country, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”The computer does not take bribe. That’s why it is very important to implement modern information technologies in the work of social assistants,” Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in a meeting with social workers on May 24. He stated that the social workers play an important role in society. The optimization of the education process all over the country, the change of the people’s attitude towards the persons with disabilities and the protection of children who remained without parental care depend on them.
”The social assistants must become the society’s soul doctors as they are the first who discuss with a person in difficulty,” Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said in the same meeting.
According to her, the Ministry aims to develop a system for diversifying the social services at local level and implementing the Global Library project at national level. The major goal of this project is to ensure access to information. The social workers will give useful information to persons who do not know they can benefit from social services because they are not adequately informed.
Over 1 000 social assistants worked in mayor’s offices all over the country at the end of 2011.
