Half of the size of pensions received by persons working in the field of culture (including ballet artists, professional dancers, circus artists and players of aerophone instruments) will be paid from the state social insurance budget, while the other half from the state budget. Earlier, these payments were made only from the state budget. The relevant bill was approved by the Government, IPN reports.

Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said the bill also provides that the pensions of employees from culture will be indexed on April 1.

The bill is to be debated and passed by Parliament and will take effect on January 1, 2014.
