Spatial metamorphoses on Ukraine’s Constitution Day

Painters Irina Shukh, Vasily Ivanchuk and Alexandr Drobakha have staged a joint exhibition themed Spatial Metamorphoses at the newly opened Culture Center of the Ukrainian Embassy in Chisinau, ahead of Ukraine’s Constitution Day on June 28, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Thirteen years have passed since the adoption of the independent Ukraine’s Constitution. Next year in April we’ll celebrate the 300th anniversary of the adoption of the first constitution of the Ukrainian state, signed by Pylyp Orlik in Bender. It is with great pleasure that I remark that some of Ukraine’s historical events are connected with Moldova”, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Moldova Sergey Pirozhkov stated at the inauguration of the exhibition on Friday. The ambassador extended congratulations to the Ukrainian community in Moldova and assured it of Ukraine’s eternal support. Shukh, Vasily Ivanchuk and Alexandr Drobakha were born and studied plastic arts in Ukraine, but have been living in Chisinau for many years and became members of Moldovan Plastic Artists’ Union. Attending the event, art critic Tudor Braga said the authors of the exhibition are remarkable specialists that manage to gather a numerous audience every time. “This Culture Center is a perfect space for both joint and personal exhibitions” remarked Irina Shukh, while Alexandr Drobakha was glad that the exhibition managed to gather many Ukrainians under one roof. The visitors of the exhibition also had the opportunity to listen to Ukrainian folk music.
