The snowfall foiled Chisinau authorities' plans to clean the city by the paschal holidays. The works were suspended and will be resumed when the weather permits it, deputy mayor Vlad Cotes said at Monday's meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. The head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea said employees of the municipal housing stock management companies are removing the snow and ice from pavements and yards of apartment buildings. According to the State Hydrometeorology Service, the cold weather will persist by March 19. Temperatures will drop to minus 13 degrees Celsius towards the end of the week. Snow will fall in parts of the country.
