The staff meetings of the City Hall and of the Chisinau Council (CMC) will be directly flashed on the web page www.chisinau.md, in the category “On-line sittings.” Airing the CMC sitting of Tuesday, February 24, was a test. The councilors can only be seen, so far, not heard. This is because not all the technical details have been regulated, Info-Prim Neo reports. To achieve the transmission, 6 mobile web cameras have been installed in the sitting hall. They cover, to a great extent, the area of the hall. 300 persons will be able to see the images on-line. An archive with all the aired sittings will be created. According to chief of the Direction of Public Relations of the Chisinau City Hall Mariana Vasilache, the idea was launched last year by Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. It will be implemented with the support of the UNDP Moldova within the project “The development of Chisinau City,” and the Soros Foundation. The total cost amounts to 35 thousand euros. The technical part will be accomplished by two employees. The broadcasting will be on the coming 4 years. “The project is aimed at increasing the transparency, so that more people have access to the decision-making act of the Chisinau administration,” Mariana Vasilache specified. Interim mayor of Chisinau Vlad Cotet told media that “it is a welcome project.” “Each of us tends to transparency and I believe that this system will influence the work of the civil servants and the council. It calls to responsibility. People must know what happens at the City Hall,” Cotet stated.
