Stage for Eurovision final has design of about US$1m

The national 2012 Eurovision Song Contest final this year will take place on a modern stage with a unique design, said the organizers of the contest. The partners that prepared the stage said it cost about US$1 million. The final will be held on March 11, Info-Prim Neo reports. Angela Sarbu, director of the public TV channel Moldova 1, told the journalists on Friday that the stage is ready and the competitors already started the rehearsals. “We have a much larger stage with an exceptional design and I hope that it will be a big surprise for the public,” she stated. Alexandr Lisnicov, the representative of the company “Standard Vision” - the partner of Teleradio-Moldova at Eurovision - said that the installations and equipment set up on the stage weigh 60 tonnes, while the spherical screen is six meters in diameter. “Nobody used something like that in Moldova until now,” he said. Special invitees from Moldova and abroad will take part in the final that will be broadcast live on Moldova 1, Moldova International and Radio Moldova starting at 19.30. It will be presented by Evelina Varlan, Dorina Gherganov and Marcel Spataru. The singers will perform without backing-vocals or computerized vocal effects. The winner will be designated 50% by the jury and 50% by televoting. If more than one competitor scores the same number of points, the song that got most of the grades ‘12” from the jury will become the winner. If the situation repeats, there will be used the open vote procedure. If it repeats again, the outcome will be decided by the vote of the youngest member of the jury.
