StarNet's most ambitious and large-scale social project “We Appreciate Intelligence”, with its public platform for schools www.liceu.md, has reached its third anniversary. On this occasion, StarNet offered prizes to the best students, the company said in a press release. Launched in 2009 in cooperation with the Chisinau City Hall, the project aimed to bring modern technologies to schools across the city by connecting them to the Internet and creating Moldova's first electronic register of schools. The name of the project, We Appreciate Intelligence, further confirms StarNet's intention to stimulate youths to improve their academic standing. On May 31, at the traditional last-school-day festivities held by the partner schools, StarNet offered prizes and certificates to students. “We are proud to have 22 partner schools in Chisinau and Ungheni, with 15,000 students and 1,350 teachers, plus thousands of parents who have access to information on their children's academic performances. Further, following the campaign extension nationwide, in 13 towns of Moldova, the project “We Appreciate Intelligence” will reach many more schools in different towns of our country and will bring together tens of thousands of students, teachers and parents”, said StarNet PR officer Irina Ghelbur. The project “We Appreciate Intelligence” builds around the information portal www.liceu.md, which became the platform of an online community for students, teachers and parents. The portal contains information on the partner schools, their management plans as well as the academic results of students. Parents can access the portal www.liceu.md for free from anywhere in the world and view the results of their children. The project is a social one, so that partner-schools are provided with free access to the Internet.
