The number of voters that were on the State Register of Voters on July 1 was of 3 285 874. Of the total number, 2 808 009 citizens with the right to vote belong to territorial-administrative units of the second level, IPN reports, quoting the Central Election Commission.
The rest are persons with Moldovan nationality who do not have residence or domicile registration, including those who emigrated legally (228 852 people) and citizens eligible to vote registered in the territorial-administrative units situated on the left side of the Nistru, which are temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova (249 013 people).
The State Register of Voters is a single integrated information system of Moldovan voters intended for the collection, storage, updating and analysis of information about Moldova’s citizens, including those from outside the country’s borders, who reached 18 and do not have legal bans on voting.
The list is compiled based on the State Population Register and is updated continuously according to the information provided by the Public Services Agency, the Ministry of Justice and the local public administration.
