The high winds have downed 11 trees in Chisinau. Eliferii Haruta, head of the Green Areas Management Association “Spatii Verzi”, has told Info-Prim Neo that there were downed older trees. The wind became stronger in the afternoon of March 15. Three trees were downed in Botanica district. One of them fell onto a vehicle, damaging it. Another three trees were downed in Buiucani district, while the rest in Riscani district. They didn’t cause damage. Eliferii Haruta said that the employees of “Spatii Verzi” on March 16 will work throughout the day so as to immediately intervene when need be. A yellow code advisory for strong winds of up to 23 m/s was issued for March 16. Temperatures are expected to fall by about 11 degrees Celsius to 1 degree Celsius during the day.
