Two students of a college situated in Botanica district of Chisinau, aged 19 and 21, are investigated for forging Moldovan lei, IPN has learned from the Chisinau Police Division.
When searching the dorm room of the students, the police found A4 sheets of paper on which Moldovan lei with the nominal value of 10, 20 and 100 lei were imprinted, special devices and accessories for printing counterfeit money. There were also found several packets with a vegetal mass looking like hemp.
When questioned by the police, the young man said they intended to offer the forged money to a teacher to persuade him to give them higher grades in the exams. The police later identified a kiosk located near the college, from where the students bought different products with forged money.
