Over 250 members of the Students' Councils in Chisinau were appointed inclusive education ambassadors within the "Learning Together" campaign, an important step towards creating a more empathetic and open school community. At the event, students discussed the need for an educational environment without barriers, which would include children with disabilities and special educational needs.

Secretary of state of the Ministry of Education Valentina Olaru underlined the role of students in promoting inclusion. "The students of an inclusive school actively contribute to the transformation of an inclusive environment, beyond the official norms, through their attitude and daily actions. In such a school, all students feel equal and cooperate, without differences, whether they participate in games or in school events," said Valentina Olaru.

"Where there are young people, the ambitions are high because they are the ones who have the power to integrate and promote inclusive education, making it a reality. The slogan "We learn together" means more than being physically present. It means creating, thinking and implementing beautiful things together," said education specialist at UNICEF Moldova Galina Bulat.

The inclusive education ambassadors will carry out awareness-raising activities, promoting respect and acceptance of diversity in their schools, encouraging the inclusion of everyone, regardless of disability, ethnicity or social status.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Research, the National Center for Psycho-pedagogical Assistance, the Chisinau Psycho-pedagogical Assistance Service and UNICEF. The campaign, supported by UNICEF and other organizations, is part of a national effort to promote inclusive education and was launched in the context of the Inclusive Education Development Program 2023-2027.
