Style guidebook with ethical norms for journalists

The Independent Press Association launched the revised and completed edition of the “Style Guidebook with Ethical Norms for Journalists”, which contains a unitary set of rules based on the linguistic norms, journalistic style, ethical and professional conduct standards recommended to all the journalists and students of the journalism faculties of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The editors and reporters will find in this book answers to many questions and solutions to difficult situations experienced in their work every day. The students will learn more about the rules of the journalistic language, norms of style, the ethics and the correct professional conduct,” the executive director of the Independent Press Association Petru Macovei said at the launch of the guidebook on December 10. Petru Macovei said that this book should not be a dogma for the journalists, but recommended that it should be discussed in editorial offices so that it could be better implemented. The new guidebook is a revised and completed version of a similar guide launched at the end of last year by members of the Independent Press Association. Drying the next weeks, the Association will present the revised edition of the book at the journalism faculties of the national universities. The “Style Guidebook with Ethical Norms for Journalists” was written and edited by the Independent Press Association as part of a number of projects financed by Civil Rights Defenders (Sweden) and UNICEF-Moldova.
