The local roads in many villages in northern Moldova are impassable following the heavy snowfall of the last two days. A part of the suburban routes were suspended, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, a number of suburban routes in Soroca, Rascani, Edinet, Briceni, Lipcani, Glodeni, Drochia, Cantemir, Cahul, and Leova districts had been suspended by 13.00. All the bus and minibus routes from the district centers to Chisinau are operated according to the ordinary schedule. As to the national roads, they are cleaned from snow throughout their length and the traffic does not experience problems. The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure calls on the local public authorities to become more actively involved in the snow cleanup on local roads.
