Supreme Security Council to examine situation of checkpoints in Security Zone

In the next meeting, the Supreme Security Council will examine the situation concerning the checkpoints that were unilaterally set up in the Security Zone. “I will call the Supreme Security Council to discuss a number of subjects, including the checkpoints placed illegally in the Transnistrian region,” President Igor Dodon stated in a new edition of the program “President Responds”, IPN reports.

He noted that earlier this week he had a telephone discussion with the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky, who informed him that half of those checkpoints were closed. “I think all of them should be closed as swiftly as possible as they weren’t agreed by Chisinau and Tiraspol. They juggle with names, saying these are not checkpoints, but police posts and so on… These are illegal checkpoints and I have thus insisted that they should be closed,” stated Igor Dodon.

He noted that the meeting of the Supreme Security Council will take place in the second half of next week.
