Tax cuts for flood-stricken villages
Twenty-three communities in six districts of the country which were the worst affected by this summer's floods – Hincesti, Briceni, Cantemir, Cahul, Ungheni and Nisporeni – will benefit from tax cuts on goods and services needed for the damage repair efforts, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Minister of Construction and Regional Development Marcel Raducan said the 23 communities were selected following technical assessments carried out by the Ministry and the local authorities.
Over the period June 30 – July 26, floodwaters razed 2 bridges, 7 kilometers of vehicle roads, 247 homes and outbuildings. Other 817 households were damaged and became unfit for habitation. Countless other structures were partially affected.
The tax facilitations, which include exemption from VAT and customs duties, were adopted by the Government in a special regulation.
