Officials of a number of poolrooms are investigated for tax evasion. According to the Ministry of the Interior’s Police Department, the suspects caused damage of over 160,000 lei to the state budget, Info-Prim Neo reports. The police established that the people’s stakes weren’t recorded in the cash register when they bet on different sports events and no checks were issued. As a result of inspections at seven poolrooms situated in Chisinau, Cahul and Balti, there was confiscated the information about the stakes made during January 22-26 and 333,000 lei that wasn’t recorded in the cars register. The suspects are investigated based on Article 244 of the Penal Code: “Tax evasion at companies, institutions and organizations”.
