Owners of right-hand drive vehicles will have to comply with a number of technical conditions for being able to drive on public roads in the country. The cars involved in international traffic will be an exception. A decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.
The document provides that the right-hand drive vehicles must be equipped with special periscopic mirrors to ensure better visibility on the left. The vehicles must also be equipped with headlamp converters to redirect the light for right-hand traffic in the direction of travel, with the exception of vehicles allowing manual or automatic headlamp levelling.
The imposed technical requirements are designed to ensure that drivers increase the field of vision on the left side when performing maneuvers to overtake other road users.
