The National Weather Service issued a Code Orange warning regarding a heat wave on August 24-26. In most areas, on August 24, the temperatures will reach +33...+37°C, and will rise to +38...+41°C on August 25-26. After the heat wave, the weather will cool down suddenly. On August 27-28, a cold atmospheric front will cross the territory of Moldova and temperatures will drop. On August 27, temporary heavy rainfalls accompanied by lightning are expected. The wind will blow from north-west at a speed of 15-20 m/s, sometimes even 21-24 m/s. The weather will cool down and by August 28 the average daily temperatures will drop by 11-13°C and the maximum temperatures by15-17°C.
