Ten regional employers' associations have been created in Moldova since the launch of the project “Local social dialogue for a better governance of the labor market in Moldova” in 2011. The project was implemented by the National Confederation of Employers (CNPM) in partnership with the Bureau for Employers' Activities of the International Labor Organization and financed by the Norwegian government. The results of the program were presented on Thursday, December 18, IPN reports.
The project focused on three fields: strengthening the capacities of employers and employers' organizations, promoting newly-created organizations and providing technical support to these organizations. Employers from different districts were assisted in registering employers' organizations and received training and information. CNPM found out that registering an employers' association is a difficult procedure and will propose amendments to the law in this field.
Leonid Cerescu, CNPM chairman, said that a joint voice and a united position of the business environment would make social dialogue more efficient. According to Cerescu, the 10 employers' organizations aren't enough and he hopes that new partners can be attracted to support the creation of such organizations in each district. One of the project's achievements is the online platform patronate.md, which allows employers from different regions to communicate and share their problems.
Anne-Brit Nippierd, project manager at ILO, said that this program, financially supported by Norway, was meant to assist employers' organizations in Moldova.
Outgoing Deptuty Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family, Sergiu Sainciuc, admitted that there were many issues of social communication in regions. “I'd like this project to be continued. If we have efficient regional structures, we'll be able to achieve our goals”, said the official.
Petru Chiriac, deputy chairman of CNPM, noted that the effort to strengthen regional employers' organizations is commendable because these entities are actively involved in solving employees' problems.
The project helped the creation of employers' associations in the districts of Edinet, Soroca, Cimislia, Causeni, Hancesti, Cahul, Straseni, Orhei, Falesti and in Balti Municipality.
