Ten students will benefit of internships at the Parliament, participating at plenary meetings and meetings of the parliamentary commissions. They will be coordinated by consultants of permanent commissions and by the administration of the National Youth Council of Moldova (CNTM), Info-Prim Neo reports. Today, April 13, Speaker Marian Lupu signed a collaboration agreement with CNTM chairman Eduard Mihalas. According to the agreement, the young interns will attend the Parliament meetings for 6 weeks. Afterwards, they will put to use the obtained knowledge by accomplishing the tasks set by the consultants of permanent commissions. The Speaker finds the agreement a chance for the youth to involve in the Parliament’s activity and vice versa. “The Parliament always needs openness and co-participation. I must note the importance of this project and thank all those involved. I appreciate the active participation of civil society and I hope similar projects will follow”, said Marian Lupu. According to CNTM leader Eduard Mihalas, the project is a great opportunity for youth to gain valuable experience. “The young interns will visit the Ukrainian Rada, as one of our partners is an Ukrainian NGO. They will have chances to get a job in the public sector, or even at the government or the Parliament”, mentioned Mihalas. Alex Petrov, coordinator of the Youth Policies Division of the CNTM, said that the 10 interns will be selected by interviewing the applicants. “They will be assigned to 6 permanent commissions, and will get to know what’s a day of work there. The trainers will be both specialists from the commissions and from the CNTM administration, which will demand monthly reports”, explained Petrov. The internship program is part of the project “Parliamentary experience exchange between the Moldovan and the Ukrainian youth”. The young interns from Moldova will visit the Ukrainian Rada, where they will exchange experience with the Ukrainian interns.
