The Government approved the list of the ten personalities who will be awarded the National Prize on the occasion of 20 years of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence, Info-Prim Neo reports. The winners are scientists Gheorghe Ghidirim (medicine), Ion Dediu (ecology), Svetlana Cojocaru (mathematics), Vasile Botnaru (agriculture), plastic artist Isai Carmu, National Opera prima donna Maria Biesu, actor and film director Ion Ungureanu, poets Dumitru Matcovschi and Nicolae Dabija, and athlete Tudor Casapu. The National Prize to the value of 100,000 lei is awarded for the first time.
