The commercial director of Termocom SA, Mihai Arusoi, says that the company can supply heat immediately after the mayor of Chisinau issues the decision to open the heating season. At Thursday’s meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, Arusoi said yet that Termocom was warned by the thermoelectric plants CETs and Moldova-Gaz that they would supply less heat to the company owing to its debts of 216 million lei to them, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Arusoi said that the information about the technical preparedness of the housing sector provided by the municipal authorities is incorrect, while the basements are inundated. He stressed yet that the works to prepare the themo-energy system for the heating season carried out this year have been greater in scope that the previous years. The commercial director of Termocom expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the heating charge for end-users has not been fixed yet. As the charge had not been adjusted from 2001 until 2007, Termocom collected debts to its suppliers, Arusoi said. Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that the technical cooperation in the municipality and in the country is satisfactory and could be better if certain officials did not confuse politics with work in citizens’ interests. “Thirsty for power, some persons are ready to destroy everything, including the City Hall, the budget, the municipality,” the mayor said. Dorin Chirtoaca said that the heating season in the municipality of Chisinau will be opened when the average temperature will be minimum 8 degrees Celsius during three consecutive days as required by law. The heating season for health and pre-university education institutions will start when their administrations ask for this. As to the City Hall’s debts to the heat supplier, the mayor said that they will be paid in installments from the additional incomes collected into the budget. “The debt of 176 million lei cannot endanger the heat supply as the debts collected during 2001-2007 came to over 840 million lei and Termocom did not threaten then to halt the supply of heat,” the mayor said.
