Termocom turns off heat supply

SA Termocom has disconnected 50 apartment buildings and companies from the heat supply so far. Another 60 blocks will be cut off from the supply on Monday, March 22, at the request of consumers. Meteorologists forecast temperatures of over 14 degrees Celsius during the day by April 2, but the average temperatures for 24 hours will be under 8 degrees Celsius, Info-Prim Neo reports. At Monday's meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Termocom commercial director Mihai Arusoi said the supplier has already decreased the volume of heat in the system by 30%. “Today, we will start disconnecting 60 apartment buildings managed by the state-run company Moldova's Railways, at the request of the consumers. Many people ask being cut off from the heat supply, but only the mayor can decide when to stop the heating season,” Arusoi said, adding the level of payments for heat is now 60%, practically the same as the previous heating season. Within the next two weeks, SA Termocom and the General Public Amenities Division will submit an action plan for preparing for the next heating season and increasing the level of payments for heat to Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. “In schools, the volume of heat was reduced to a minimum, but I think they should be supplied with heat by Easter,” said the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb. “The kindergartens should be heated in continuation as the children undress when they go to sleep in the afternoon.” The Health Division's head Luminita Suveica said it is too early to halt the supply of heat to hospitals. The heating season in the municipality of Balti is being closed today, March 22.
