The three MPs defected from the party in the ugliest way possible, Vladimir Voronin
The chairman of the Communist Party (PCRM) said he is not disturbed by the defection of the three lawmakers - Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramciuc. Vladimir Voronin told the journalists that if they left in order to resolve the political crisis, they did it in the ugliest way possible, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I possess no information, but the party’s statutes say that the entry into and defection from the party is free. Only yesterday did I receive Igor Dodon’s proposal concerning modernization. Their decision is a novelty for us. However, the PCRM ensures the greatest democracy. It has the perfect statutes that are put into practice. That’s why all these problems are discussed within the party at different levels,” said Vladimir Voronin.
He also said that the defection of the three MPs is not betrayal or disappointment as it is a matter of dignity. “If the problem of election of the head of state is solved by such methods, poor we,” stated the Communist leader.
He also said that he knows for whom the three MPs will vote, but did not give details.
Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramchuc on November 4 announced that they decided to leave the PCRM. In a news conference held at the head office of “Solutia” Foundation that is managed by Igor Dodon, the three said they are ready to vote for an apolitical candidate for the presidency in order to help overcome the crisis.
