“The Tsar’s Bride” premiered at National Opera House

The first of the three premieres with different casts of the opera “The Tsar’s Bride” by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov was long applauded yesterday at the National Opera House. The artists in the main parts had a remarkable and appreciated performance. Petru Racovita played the part of Grigorii Greaznoy, while Elena Gherman – the role of the Mafia. The other roles were performed by Valeriu Cojocaru (Vasilii Sobakin), Nicolae Bantea (Lykov), Oleg Thybulko (Maliuta), Tatiana Busuioc (Liubasa), Vladimir Zaklikovki (Bomelii), Ludmila Aga (Domna Saburova ), Anastasia Tverdohlib (Duneasha), and Tatiana Varlan (Petrovna), Info-Prim Neo reports. The opera was directed by the Emeritus Master of Art Eleonora Constantinova, conductor Master of Art Nicolae Dohotaru. It can be watched again on Saturday and Sunday, starting at 18.00. The scenography and décor were made by painter Irina Press, who is well-known abroad. Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s work represents the essence of the Russian musical inheritance for universality. The world created by Rimsky-Korsakov is a new, charming world, say actors of the National Opera House. The opera “The Tsar’s Bride” had its global premiere 111 years ago, on October 22, 1899, at the Moscow Theater of the Private Opera of S.I. Mamontov. In Chisinau, it was first presented on January 12, 1959 at “Pushkin” Theater. In October, the troupes of the National Opera House will also perform “The Sleeping Beatty” by P. Tchaikovsky, “The Troubadour” by G.Verdi, “The Rustic Chivalry” by P.Mascagni, and “Giselle” by A.Adam.
