The Odeon Cultural Center in cooperation with the United States Embassy in Moldova will hold the third American Film Festival between May 22 and 28. During this period a total of 10 best political and courtroom drama films will be presented. Sandu Leanca, head of the Culture Division of the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau, has told Info-Prim Neo that the theme of the films was chosen by the Embassy. Lidia Troianowski, cultural manager of the Odeon Cultural Center, said that the ten films had been made during 1970-2000 and will be subtitled in Romanian. The ten films are: “To Kill a Singing Bird”, “The Candidate”, ”Erin Brockovich”, “Approval and Consent”, “Michael Clayton”, “Presumed Innocent”, “All the President’s Men”, “People of Honor”, “Mr Smith Goes to Washington” and “The Verdict”. The festival opens on Friday, May 22 at 18.00. Ambassador Asif J. Chaudhry will attend the opening ceremony. The first festival in 2005 included classical films, while the second festival in 2006 – musical films.
