The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection during one day received 30 requests from the local public authorities to provide food products and other essential goods for the refugees. The requests were processed and the asked products will be soon distributed according to the available supplies, said the secretary general of the Government Dumitru Udrea, the head of the Unified Crisis Management Center, IPN reports.
According to Dumitru Udrea, assistance continues to be distributed to mayor’s offices and placement centers from the supplies available at the central store in Vatra and the store at Moldova-Film Studio, from the donations made by people from the diaspora and nongovernmental organizations, which came to Moldova without a destination address and accompanying documents.
At the same time, through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, Moldova received humanitarian aid in the form of food and nonfood products to the value of €6.6 million. The assistance is distributed according to needs to the centers set up under the aegis of the Ministry of the Interior for managing the flow of people on the state border. The assistance received through this mechanism included equipment and devices for refugee centers, tents, covers, hygiene products, food and pharmaceutical products and other essential goods.
