Three inhabitants of Colibasi village, Cahul district, have been detained at the Romanian border for attempting to smuggle cigarettes worth over 70,000 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Border Guards Service, they found 32,400 packs of cigarettes in their truck. The cigarettes are made in Moldova and were wrapped in plastic bags. When detained, two suspects tried to escape. They did not even have ID cards with them. The driver, aged 39, said the cigarettes were to be sold in Romania.
