Two women from Moldova and a woman from Israel were sentenced to imprisonment for trafficking in children and procuring. The three recruited victims from socially deprived groups and made these prostitute themselves, IPN report.
The culprits, aged between 50 and 76, were sentenced to 12, seven and, respectively, five years in jail. According to prosecutors, during 2009-2014 the women recruited a number of girls, including minors, to prostitute themselves in a house on Drumul Taberei St in Chisinau. This was rented by one of the culprits, who is a citizen of Israel. The police said this is the mother-in-law of Alexandru Covali, alias Shalun, who got 19 years in jail in 2010.
Earlier, the given building was used for similar purposes by a criminal group led by Alexandru Covali. The owners managed to get back the building by court decisions, but prosecutors repeatedly sequestrated this following the establishment of new cases of trafficking in children and procuring. The Chisinau Court based in Buiucani annulled the sequestration decision again, but the prosecutors intend to challenge the judgment.
