The Republic of Moldova loses its vigilance and defense capacity, considers the administration of the Tiras-Tighina 1992 War Veterans Association. In a news conference at IPN on August 29, the Association’s chairman Anatolie Caraman read a statement that was adopted by the Administration Board of the Association, concerning the sociopolitical situation in Moldova and the danger that threatens it.
Anatolie Caraman said that during the 26 years of independence, the Republic of Moldova has been controlled by Russian espionage services and propagandistic means of the Russian empire. The Association calls on Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu to initiate the procedure for preparing reservists for defending the state as the Russian military forces present on the left side of the Nistru are ready to occupy Chisinau right now.
According to Anatolie Caraman, Igor Dodon only says that he is the President of everyone, but in reality is the representative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the local level and promotes an anti-state policy.
“The Republic of Moldova loses its independence and freedom. In society, they say that the separatist forces prepare for war against us. These have prepared for 26 years and are now ready to act. The current government counts only on the active police bodies of the state. The Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Defense and the Security and Intelligence Service are well trained, but not enough. We think that if need be, the legal framework should be adjusted so that we could seek help from the EU and NATO,” reads the statement.
Ion Savin, one of the members of the Association’s Administration Council, said that this summer the Russian military units, alongside the Transnistrian ones, held military exercises on the left side of the Nistru. “There was even a priest in the armored tanks at the Russian and separatist military drill. Before fighting in Donetsk and Luhansk, so-called Russian and separatist volunteers were blessed by a press. It is a similar scenario,” he stated.
Council member Sergiu Tataru said President Igor Dodon is the No. 1 danger that threatens Moldova because he supports separatism. “We will not allow him to commit wrongdoings in this state. We will defend the state in its borders, as ruler Stephan the Great entrusted us to do,” stated the veteran.
The administration of the Tiras-Tighina 1992 War Veterans Association said Igor Dodon went beyond any limit and it’s time for Parliament “to charge him”.
