The National Trade Unions Confederation Moldova decided to allocate 80,000 lei to the families that were affected by the explosion that occurred in an apartment building in Râșcani district of Chisinau on October 6. The decision was adopted by the Confederation’s Confederal Committee.
Contacted by IPN, the Confederation’s chairman Oleg Budza said the money is allotted from the Confederation’s budget that consists of membership dues. The affected families will receive aid even if they do not form part of the trade union network.
The Confederation asked for information from the commission that is examining the case and, depending on the data that will be provided, will decide how to distribute the funds. The money will reach the victims until this weekend.
The apartment building blast claimed the lives of four persons: a woman aged 30 and her four-year-old son and a married couple both aged 77. After the explosion, a number of persons needed medical care. A woman is still in a serious state.
