The local councils will be able to impose bans and requirements concerning the cleanup and management of waste by trading units that work on the territory of the local public authorities. This is provided in a bill that was passed by the MPs in the first reading on October 11, IPN reports.
The initiative provides that the traders will have to manage the waste deriving from their activity if the local council sets down relevant requirements in the regulations concerning trading activity in the given community.
The traders will also be obliged to make sure that the waste resulting from trading activity is gathered, stored and collected in accordance with the legislation on waste management.
The collection and transportation of waste will be the responsibility of traders if they have an authorization for waste management or by legal entities that have an authorization and with which the trader signed a contract.
